I've run into this on my c5 as well. The only thing I could find to solve it without swapping the factory radio is a radio frequency scanner. It plugs into your phone, scan for the 3 best stations in whatever area your in and it plays your iPod through thy frequency and out your speakers. Some also even charge your phone simultaneously. However I returned mine do to the constant driving and scanning. When u travel, the weak signals that the device overtakes go out of range and u will continuously get static and have to find a new station. Other that that it worked very well. You can get them at any apple store but they will be pricey. Best buy has them as well for half the price, but I haven't tried their brands. I used the one from the apple store. Good luck!
I'm about to buy one of these. Dennis is a vendor on this forum and a heck of a good guy to speak with. Here is his website. Give him a call and he'll help with whatever you need.
I have the iSimple ISGM73, and picked it up from Crutchfield.com. However there site says it's not compatible with our cars but it is, and it does charge an iPhone 4.
I have heard that these things will repeat roughly 5-7 tunes over and over instead of just randomly moving through the Ipod. Is this true? Will it work with a 3rd generation Ipod touch that is not a phone?

If you use the radio keys it will do that. I use the ipod/iphone to navigate, so I never have this issue.
Also, I just got a new iphone4 so I put a new one in my Z. I have the old one that worked with my 3gen ipod nano. If you're interested, shoot me a pm

I'm going to get one of these for my '01 with the changer in the trunk. How did y'all run the cable to the center console? Under the carpet? Just up the side of the trunk?

Thanks,

Mike, you can use the harness and tap into the connectors under the pass footwell or out back at the changer (if equipped)
easy to route under the carpet then up into the aft console
