Default ls6 injectors on an lsi

Hey guys i have a question,i just removed my stock intake and injectors off my 2003 z06.and was considering installing them on my sons 2000 ls1 camaro. The camaro has a set of Pacesetter 13/4 3" collector headers,y pipe with high flow cats and a Magnaflow muffler setup, and a K&N cold air intake. My question is with the ls6 intake and the 28lb injectors, would i be over fueling the system or is that just what the doctor ordered? I realize i must retune everything of course, but just wanted to know from the experts(you guys) what u think. Thanks in advance for all antisipated feedbacks

The injectors are the same as on your sons car, but gains can be made from the intake. There are a few parts required to make the intake fit. Here is a write up on the install and required parts.

You actually don't need any parts to put the LS6 intake on the 2000. Countless people have simply removed material from the bottom of the LS6 intake where the LS1 style coolant pipe runs.

last time i checked they were not. LS1's have 26lb injectors and LS6's have 28.5.

On the 01-04 Vettes the injectors were the same. 2000 Camaro injectors are not the same as 01-04 Corvette injectors.

Why do people post crap like this? It not helpful to anyone, not particularly funny, and makes it a pain for the original poster to sort through the BS responses to get the information he's actually looking for.

STOCK C5 injectors

97-98----28.4 lbs
99-01----26.4 lbs
LS6 Z06-28.2 lbs

Not sure about what the camaro IFR is-- But I'm guessing 26 ish
Unless you son's car has a bigger cam and better hds--most likely his stock injectors will be fine---
The way you tell exactly is do 1st install the LS6 intake with HIS injectors--Drive it around for about 50 75 miles to let the fuels trims settle down some---THEN you'll need a data logger or just a scanner that shows "injector duty cylces"---Common belief is to NOT let the duty cycles go beyond 80% at WOT----Mine run about 90 % and still work fine -- I just don't run it WOT for a long time (1/4 mi. OK) and let it the injectors cool down if I happen to run it a long time
No real HP in larger injectors IF you don't need them !!!!!!!
TOO big of an injector will create idle issues and may also cause surging/dying when lifting or low PT driving
A tune for just a LS1-LS6 int swap is not especially needed if you give the ECM some time to learn out--But for best performance i would tune it anyway
If the duty cycles are way over 80%--then you may benefit from the larger 28's AND if you are planning some future mods then of course you can change them out but absolutely a tune will be needed or it will run PIG RICH--everywhere---
Intake swap good for about an honest 10-12 RWHP

Nice follow-up, but model year 2000 Corvette, Camaro, Firebird...all have 26# injectors.

And the profanity really wasn't necessary.

Good gawd. Without belaboring the point, here's a synopsis:

97-98: 28.x lb/hr
99-20: 26.x lb/hr
2001-2004: 28.x lb/hr regardless of LS1 or LS6

Profanity. Really? I must log off now, and consult my minister, or wash my hands; I'm so upset, I don't know what to do....

It's possible I'm oversensitive to my kids walking by and seeing dad reading something with the word ***.

And I suppose the increasing volume of mouth-breathing, slack-jawed illiterate tech here is the inevitable result of C5 prices falling into trailer park territory.

Good advice, as is what my dad used to say:

"If you don't know what you're talking about, keep your mouth shut."

Post wrong info, I rub your nose in it like a dog in his own poop. Deal with it.
