Have a stock 04 with 50k, when going into a turn, right or left, about half way through the turn I feel and hear a pop\knock\clunk kind of sound comming from the front of the car.
Went into the dealer to have it looked at along with fixing the leaky butt before my GMPP warranty runs out, took the mechanic out for a ride and he felt it to but it dosen't happen every turn so it took 3-4 turns until it happened. He isn't sure what it is, he re-torqued everything he thought it may be and doesn't see anything obvious, after the re-torq seems a little worse
I did a search here and read some other peoples issues but nothing conclusive.
I know my front end needs alignment as my last set of tires were worn on the inside much more then the outside. I was going to lower the car first on stock bolts before I get the alignment but haven't had the time yet.
Anyone else have this exact same issue? Fix
Check the sway bar to tie rod bolts. There's lots of things under there that can cause the noise. I had one too which was a tie-rod end bolt was just barely lose. Basically, get it on jackstands and safed, put a wrench on every bolt you can find. There's also the torx bolts on the bearing hub assemblies that might be a good idea to look at.
