Default MGW Shifter

I installed the MGW in my z06 about a month ago. My only concern is 5th and reverse. They seem to be right on top of each other now and I'm worried I may hit reverse instead of 5th. Anybody else experience this. Shifter is brand new and I don't see where anything is adjustable. Thanks

I haven't noticed this, but there is a reverse lockout solenoid that won't you put the car reverse while moving forward.

Yep, I agree with the above. I was a little worried myself when I noticed how close they were to each other so I asked my tuner who told me the same thing about the solenoid.
Happy shifting!!

It is possible to hit reverse instead of 5th if you force it over. You can force the shifter past the lockout solenoid.....ask me how I know

Sure you don't have a bad lockout solenoid? Slamming gears like that would more than likely break other parts first.

This is an issue with my MGW shifter as well- I have had it for over 2 years and it is far too easy to miss 5th .

Although the oem shifter was sloppy as heck- I never missed 5th with it...
