throwout bearing rattle fix?

So ive been doing it wrong this whole time?? i always turn my car off in neutral for the past 4 years. should i change it up now? im getting this similar noise when going into first, sometimes reverse. Also, when im in 3rd or 4th gear and i accelerate fast, at the start of the acceleration i can hear a slight gear grind. but it only happens at acceleration.
