For about the last 3 days, when I finish up with my car, I have noticed a burning smell coming from the engine compartment. I do not really smell it while I'm in the car; however, when I get out, I can immediately smell it. The harder that I have been driving, the more prominent the smell. It is not brakes, nor clutch...I know those smells. It is more of kind of an electrical burning. It seems to be coming from the driver's side of the engine compartment, directly in front of the driver. I am going to try to see if I can get CorvetteThrasher to look at it this weekend, as he has way more mechanical savvy than me. Hopefully, he will be able to help; however, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I will be patiently waiting...
Kind of gross but it does happen... maybe a little rodent took a nap in your engine bay? Just an idea... a dumb one at that. :) Hope you figure it out!
It appears as if the the smell is coming out of the opening in the hood near the driver's side windshield wiper. Does anyone else smell a burning electrical smell at this location with the hood down? It seems to go away when I lift the hood. Could this just be all the engine smell coming out this opening then dissipating when I open the hood. If anyone could check this out on their car for me, I would appreciate it.
I have had this also on occasion. Smells like something electrical is burning. A visual inspection doesn't show anything. I've got 20k on the car and have been using it everyday for 20 months. Everything continues to work so I don't worry about it.

All "new" cars stink like sheeet when you get on them or they get hot. Don't like it but have learned to live with it.
