Default Help! Climate Control Question!

My 99 blows ice cold air out of the passenger side and cool air from the drivers side. I have read many threads on how to fix this and I realize the freon could be low or the actuator could be bad. I have tried resetting the actuators and I can hear them open and close....but I have a issue that I did not notice in these threads.

Is it typical when an actuator goes bad that the driver's side control **** controls the passenger temp? I can make my passenger nice and toasty and ice cold when I turn the **** on the drivers' side but it doesn't affect the driver's side temperature nor does the passenger side **** do anything.

I just wanted to know if you guys had seen this before? Could it be the actual climate control head unit? I live in South Carolina and we have had 3 weeks of 100 degree weather and it is driving me crazy. Like I said the driver's side air is cool but it never changes, it wont get hot or cold.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt

Ok, see if this helps. The drivers side control is for both sides, the passanger side will only add or take a few degrees from what the drivers side is set at. So, I would suggest you check your freon charge? Also, check and see if you have any codes on the DIC that pertain to the HVAC.

Thomas USMC - It may be more helpful for you to start a new thread, and let us know what is going on, with more info.

Yeah checking the freon levels will be my next step. I did have one code it was "B0441 H C Left Actuator Out of Range." It has not come back after I reset the actuators so hopefully it will stay that way. If not I will have to take it out and check it out. Thanks for your help! I'll post if the freon fixed it as soon as I can get someone over here to check it for me. Thanks again.
