Default Intake manifolds

Hello everyone I have a 1999 C5 that I plan on Modding a bit more soon. I have a b&b bullet exhaust, vara-ram air intake and a 160 degree thermostat. I plan on completely finishing the exhaust with b&b long tube headers and a B&b x pipe. However, first I want to put on a different intake manifold. I've looked around here on which is the best but I've never come to a very definitive answer.

Although FAST seeks to be the best I can't really afford it due to college. So I was thinking a stock ls6 intake but apparently some say there are issues with heat soak, while others say that's complete bull ****. I hate to ask the question that's been asked a thousand times before but I'm at a loss here. What's the best intake manifold for around 300-500? And what kind of power increase will I get?

Thanks to anybody who helps

The only discussions surrounding "heat soak"....are related to aluminum intakes for LS1/6's. I'm not sure what you read, or what you think you understood....but "heat soak" is not an issue with a stock LS intake manifold. Unless you are squeezing every last HP from a N/A build, you can't go wrong with a 2001-2004 intake.

I think they were talking about aftermarket "ls6" intakes I wasn't sure how hard it would be to get a stock ls6 intake. So I assumed I might have to go with an aftermarket one.

Technically, there is no such thing as an "LS6" intake manifold.....as all intake manifolds from 2001 - 2004 are the same. Check the parts section, ebay, etc. They are readily available.
