Default AN Fuel line fitting

I want to Convert my lines all to steel braided line and AN fittings. All the way up to where it hooks up right at the cowl. Im looking for the correct peice that converts it to AN. Vendors are welcome to pm me too.

Here's this on a website. But says for LT1, yet looks just like what Hinson sells.

Thanks!

Russel has the gm factory style fitting. Not at work so do not have the part #. A quick internet search should list it. "Russell gm fuel" or similar.

i had so many problems with that fitting. would not mate properly with the elbow needed after that. my solution was to order the fitting that went into yhe fuel filter and ran braided line all the way from rear.
good luck

I replace the plastic insert with a genuine gm part #. Solves all issues. I have various vette and camaro customers with this fitting. Out of curiosity why all braided fuel lines? For looks? Making 1000 horsepower?

Russel # 640850 and gm #12388064 for the better plastic insert. -8 is fine for the feed.

Just an FYI, braided lines do degrade overtime as well. I can't tell you which ones are better. I only know I have had to redo them before because the fuel started leaching out through the braids.

I would rather run as much solid line as possible and braided on areas where there are moving parts or just not possible to get a solid line in there.

Well I don't want the fuel pressure to blow thru the line so I'd rather steel braided lines to help that. Thanks for the heads up though.

Holy crap these fittings are expensive haha

Apparently I have to put oil on the line before I put it into the AN fitting? Can I use motor oil or something?

They make a metal inset that will go into those conversion fittings that make them very reliable. You can find them at Advance auto, autozone, etc... I'd recommend you get them.

Also, I hope you have better luck than I did, as well as many others when speaking of fuel smell. I put braided fuel line as my fuel feed and the smell was so bad, I changed it within a week. Everywhere I went, I smelled like gas. I pulled it out and changed it to Teflon core PTFE lines. No more fuel smell

Damn man thanks for the heads up.
The Fuel line fitting I bought actually has a metal peice inside already. So lets hope thats the one you mean.

And I seriously hope no fuel smell or problems. As long as I can use the lines your talking about with these AN fittings, that can be my Plan B

Any tips on connecting the braided line to AN fittings?

Would a vice be all I need? I didn't wanna buy that kit to do them as I think there is another way as well.

Should be in today
