Most of the time it's an antenna problem. You will receive local FM stations with the antenna completely unplugged, but you'll lose all AM with even a slight antenna problem.

You may want to try cleaning and checking the internal antenna fitting into the radio.It may need to be pushed into the radio.My radio receives a tremendous amount of static because I live near a raio station and high tension wires.In the close proximity of my home I don't use AM at all.Its worth a try.Nothing to lose. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy

I had exactly that problem. For the longest time I just figured that C5's didn't have good AM radios. Then I found another guy with a C5 that could easily get stations that I couln't. The dealer could not track it down so they tried telling me it was my window tinting that was blocking the signal (typical GM dealer attitude). They finally found a bad antenna connection. Sorry, but I'm not sure exactly where the bad connection was.

I had the same thing happen to me on a Mercedes. The cable to the antenna had fallen off. Check it first. Good luck
