Default Header mounting tabs needed?

I'm not too familiar with c5 headers. Are the mounting tabs on the collector necessary?
Was looking at a tpis set which doesn't have them. I don't recall my c4 having anything on the collector..

Some LT's come with tabs and a bracket to bolt the headers to the bell housing. It usually ends up breaking the headers and needing repair. Don't run one - it's not needed and can cause problems.

I see the tabs as an alignment tool and aides in the install and not for mounting purposes.

Thanks for the info. Would long tubes with cats & air tubes throw a cel for any reason?

A few thats for sure.

P0300C missfire. Probably cracked a plug with your header install.
Crossing your O2 sensor wires or wire damage from heat.

Or something else......

I havent picked them up yet, will pick them up later today.

Im just curious if all goes well, cats are used, air tubes are connected, and o2 sensors are installed correctly, there should not be any reason to throw a cel, right?

I dont see why there would be, but dont want to get them if its going to throw a cel.

I use those extra tabs, but they tend to be just a little bit off. Don't tighten the tabs to where they pull the header. Add washers/spacers as needed to prevent this and you should be okay.

You'll likely get a code or two. I got these codes for slow O2 response a few times so I justed turned them off.
