I'm looking for a charger for my Optima Redtop. I want made in USA only. Any suggestions, please.

Unfortunately, if you want made in the USA, the Ctek is not. However, it is the best charger money can buy for your battery. I recommend the Ctek 3300. I have one and I tested it on an old AC Delco I had laying around in my garage. I thought it was long dead and unchargeable. I tried charging it with several different chargers with no luck. I plugged it to the Ctek 3300 and after about half a day, it was fully charged and holding the charge. The Ctek is now the exclusive charger I use on the Vette's Exide Orbital AGM battery. This battery is almost identical to the Optimas, by the way.

The CTEK US3300 is European made and high tech. It has multiple settings including a low amp input which is what an OPTIMA battery needs. This member has them at a great price...

If you insist on USA made (which I also prefer), then your best option is a BATTERY TENDER PLUS @ 1.25amp input, made by DELTRAN CORP. I've been using mine on different cars for over ten years now. They also make a solar powered unit now which might be of interest. You can buy these at many vendors, including local motorcycle shops and PEPBOYS. The price is the same as the CTEK sale above...

When I bought my CTEK 3300 a few months ago it came with a big sticker on it that said MADE IN CHINA. Oh well, it seems to work. But so did the $20 motorcycle charger I was using before.

You could be right. I should have said it's popular in Europe instead of made in Europe. Here's their website, you might find out more about where it's manufactured...

I did find this description...
quote: "CTEK Power's Multi US 3300 is a primary switch mode battery charger, with pulse maintenance and is a part of a series of professional battery chargers from CTEK Sweden AB. These chargers represent the latest technology within battery charging. A recent addition to the CTEK family of "the smartest battery chargers in the world," the Multi US 3300 contains three charging modes, and automatically and easily charges all 12V lead-acid batteries, making it perfect for motorcycles, cars, lawn mowers, jet skis and any other vehicle with batteries up to 120Ah. Not all of the parts on the car are USA made so why limit yourself in a charger.
