Default Picked up a TSP Cam, Cam Help

Picked up a cam from a friend on the cheap. Its specs are TSP Torquer V3 Int Duration 281 Duration @ .050 231 Valve Lift .644, Exh Duration 283 Duration @ .050 234 Valve Lift .598, Lobe Separation 111. Is this an aggressive cam or mild. What parts do I need to order to have this cam installed by a shop.

Thanks in advance!

Thats a fairly aggressive mid to top end power cam. Its going to be a bit limited by stock heads.

Depending on how many miles you have on your car, I would replace the following:

Valve springs (specific to handle that kind of lift)
Lifters (LS7)
Timing chain (LS2)
Oil pump

Torquer V3 is a nice proven cam and should be easier to tune than others because of its popularity so thats a plus. Its not exactly aggressive, but it is a very healthy cam.

This is a mid sized cam with crazy lift. Makes great power but be ready to change springs every 15-20k miles. Must run strong valvesprings with these!

This man speaks the truth.. I had a much smaller cam in my car... After 20k miles a spring gave out and ruined the entire engine....

I ran that cam with PRC .675's and Ti retainer $375. Full bolt ons (long tubes, xpipe, no cats, ZO6 Ti exhaust, 160 tstat, ud pulley and Vararam) it made 441/411 iirc.

This was on a '04 ZO6...not sure what your putting it in. Ran it for three summer and not a single problem. Idle was about 850 and it thumped. For a cam only setup it sure suprised a lot of people.

Thanks....FYI, check the base circle....iirc 7.450 was my push rod length.

Thanks for the great info, I have a 04, same mods minus 160 tstat and ud pulley....so prc's may be the way to go, gonna ring Texas Speed tomorrow. I have a Fast 90 im going to add, so looking for a LS2 TB to hook on to it. Wonder how much itll bring to the table with those mods.

yes those springs are plenty!. 441/411 with a v3 cam only? I want to hit that dyno! I only made 10 more with a set of milled and ported tfs220's heads and a ported 92/92 on a 228-232 cam. I would expect the 430whp range with that cam and the fast maybe a little more.

I would say no. They just have to much torque. At lower speed yes and at the track maybe if your a better driver. But the higher the speed gets the worse it will be for you. My tuner Charlie says I should be able to take a stock one. But an intake and a tune and they would get me.

You might want to think about a clutch and some injectors as well. You will be close to maxing the stock ones out.
