Default fuel system

My nitrous is finally complete and tuned for. I took the car out to do some pulls and when the nitrous would hit, i would get a huge lean spike and my lean shut down switch would cut the system off. I did a couple pulls watching the gauges and noticed my fuel pressure would spike down a good 20psi when the nitrous hit than system would cut off.

So were thinking either i have a fuel restriction or my fuel pump isn't keeping up with the nitrous. I know on the 04Z the fuel pump/regulator and i guess also the Filter is all inteernal. I was wondering if anyone has a schematic on the system or where everything is located that could be clogged. I read that the fuel system is a return type system????

My buddy has a c5z also with heads/cam and spray on a stock pump and he isn't having any fuel issues.

i read that you have to drop the tranny and diff just to get the fuel pump..

Any tips/help/input would be great

Your friend is wrong. Everything is within the left tank i.e. sending unit, regulator, pump, filter, etc. 2004 is FFS, your friend is obviously not aware of the fuel system difference on C5s.

You posted up last month, about a fuel pressure issue, and never followed up with a resolution....or at least confirmed your pressure with a mechanical gauge.

confirmed it today with a mechanical gauge, at idle it is at 59...my junk electrical gauge was reading 80 and when the nitrous hit it spiked down to 60ish..so i guess that would mean that the system is going from 60 to 40..after one of the hits today my car idled down to around 300rpm for a sec than went back to normal

First of all, if you are going to be running NOS, you need reliable, accurate gauges......specifically fuel pressure and AFR.....IMO. Do be too quick to assume the error is linear. Your first post states the FP went down to 20 psi.....get your gauge fixed, so you know what's really going on. Start by checking your setup.

the setup has been checked checked triple quadruple checked. First post states the pressure dropped a good 20psi.meaning from 60 to 40 if my junk gauge ready 80 to 60.

i talked to numerous people including my installer, graham at nitrous outlet and speed inc. They all say fuel pump.
