Default N.C. tuners

I'm planning to have heads, cam and headers installed. I know about More. Would like to look into a couple of others in the area 120 miles around Winston Salem. Nothing against More but it seems a good idea to compare. I will be modding a 2003 C5. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum, jfpilla
Good to have another NC vette guy on board.:D
I'm on the other side of the state, so I'm not aware of any tuners out that way, but post this question in the "Southeast" section of the board, and you'll get an answer from a lot of Raleigh-area guys at least...

I've only heard of More... they have some experence in Vettes/LS1s, which is probably more than anywhere else in or near NC. You can always order the parts from one of our Forum vendors and have them installed locally.

http://www.moreperformanceinc.com/ They have a good reputation in the LT1/LT4 community. Run a search in C4 tech a few 396 C4 have been built by them. A friend's father had a 383 LT1 built for his Camaro buy them with good results.

More Performance did my header and pulley install. They've done a lot of work on other C5 Vettes as well. If I end up going heads/cam they'll most likely do the work. They have a very nice shop if you haven't been there.

Definately go to MORE performance. The guys there are great, ask for Troy in the sales department. They are easy to deal with and back up all their work. I highly recommend them, they have done almost all the work on my car.

Ok, since we're talking MY side of the state, I agree 100%-- Chris is extremely knowledgeable and has produced excellent results on many cars-- including my C5, which at the intermediate level we're at now, is making over 400RWHP.
We're taking the next step soon ;) :reddevil
He has done head and cam installation on C4's so many times he could do it in his sleep, and it's perfect everytime. I myself have seen the result of three separate installations, and the work speed, quality, and care was impeccable.
Definitely consider CC Performance Engineering as a serious option in heads/cam installation and/or selection/fabrication--he's easily as good as and very likely better than anyone else around here, and all he does is Corvettes, so he really treats them like gold.:yesnod: :smash:

I am in winston-salem also. I have a 01' ZO6 if you can compare with mine. I plan on getting the cartek stage 2 X Package soon. Not sure of any vette tuners around though. But, its ok I guess since my dad is a mechanic :D

As I said I have nothing against More. I have been to their shop. It's a nice place. I will probably have them do my mods. It makes the most sense geographically. I'm in or near charlotte a lot. More importantly, they have a very good rep. I also like the idea of a shop doing the complete job. Including getting it running right. I'm not up to the hassle anymore. Since I love my vettes and will be spending much money I feel it's a good idea to check around and make sure of the alternatives. Thanks for the input. y'all are a big help. This forum is a great tool and is entertaining.
