So I was driving in town the other day and push in the clutch and it stays on the floor. Upon getting it pulled in to a parking lot I find that all my clutch fluid had leaked out from some where up front. Got it towed home and when i got a chance to look at it, I found that the line from the master cylinder was the culprit. The roll pin that hold it on had backed out letting the the line come loose. Have it back on now and filled and bleed. Thank god for the remote bleeder Anyone else seen this happen?
When I switched my GM m/c out for the Tick adjustable, I didn't give the old m/c too much attention.
However, I do know that the Tick has no pin.
I'm aware also that there is a roll pin that holds the feed line at the slave cylinder. This is the line some take off & drill out the slave to a larger diameter, to get more fluid & possibly help prevent the pedal from sticking to the floor at high rpm's.
When I changed out my m/c,the roll pin had a safety wire through it-it has one now, too.
The roll pin is located on the end of the m/c,it presses in & fits through a groove close to the end of the clutch line, which has an "o" ring on the end to seal it in the m/c.
It's(the hydraulic line)actually kind of a loose fit-seems like it would leak, but doesn't...unless the roll pin falls out
I decided to safety wire it it to prevent it from coming out again as well. I have a stock master, but I did have it out last year. It never had any saftey wire on there when I first took it out last year. Oh well, lesson learned.
