Are the stock LS1 "241" heads drilled and tapped to accept screw-in rocker arm studs? What is the seat and open pressure of the LS6 valve springs and what is max lift? thanks.
These heads do not have studs, the rocker arm fulcrums are bolted (metric threads)directly to pedestal bases that are cast into the body of the heads. This is a much better set-up than studs in my opinion.
The 241 casting heads were designed for a maximum valve lift of .550" and were used on 2001-2004 LSIs. The cam used during this period had a .464"/.479" intake and exhaust lift and the valve spring open and closed pressures with this cam are 220 & 76 lbs accordingly.
Thanks for the replies. I was trying to determine if the Crane Gold Quick Lift Rocker arm kit would work without any machine work. They use screw in studs to hold each rocker and the total lift with my cam and the 1.8 rockers would be .535". I was wondering if the LS6 springs would work with this setup. Mine is a 2000 with the .500 lift cam.
