Just purchased an 01 Z06 with 98k on the clock. Bought it with a few known issues, but I have yet to be able to pin down what exactly is going on with my suspension. While going over potholes, rivets, any even MINOR crease in the road I hear pops of what sounds like metal on metal. It happens very consistently and sounds as if its front and rear. I've searched threads that suggest maybe they are endlinks or bushings. The shocks on the car look to be original, so I will probably replace those in the meantime, but anyone out there with what to look for while I'm under there. How would I know if its time to replace bushings, Sway bars, Endlinks, etc? Thanks in advance.
Lots of people have put in the T1 end links and these are very noisy. I believe the 01 Z originally had plastic end links and these were prone to breakage. If the original owner replaced them with T1 links that could easily be it.
OTOH, they may be the stock links and just be shot.
