Default Active Handling

So I have been using the search button and have found a lot of useful information on the what seems to be common "Active Handling" issue. My car has had similar issues that people mentioned but I am not getting ANY codes. I am not getting a C1288 or anything... I have checked right after it is displayed on the screen and nothing is being triggered.

2002 Z06 with 57,xxx miles.

I am about to go cross country with my girl in a week and half. We are going for three weeks and will be putting on a lot of miles/time behind the wheel. My problem is that it kicks me out of cruise control when the display comes up "Active Handling". So far this seems to happen only after about 50minutes of driving on the highway. Sometimes it happens well into a trip and sometimes it happens sooner. A couple times in the last 3000 miles the front seems to lock up for a split second which is not a good feeling but nothing displays on the screen.

As of right now I am planning on starting with the steering sensor but wanted to get others input so I can get this problem under control before the trip.

*I also had a fallen HUD and this past weekend fixed that and put a Hurst in the car. Thanks for the great posts. Could not have done the HUD without these writeups!!

You need to check codes when it happens via the DIC

Correct. I have checked multiple times since I bought the vehicle. No codes come up on the DIC. Nothing...

wheel sizes? custom wheels? if your front tires are taller than your back then the car will think your back wheels are spinning...... easy fix ..

I am running the stock Z06 wheels both front and rear.

Keep them coming. I hope there is something easy that I am missing.

Also are you using this procedure to call up codes:

Steering wheel is perfectly centered on a straight road and I have followed the procedure to bring up the codes.

I think you may have a flakey SWPS (steering wheel positioning sensor).

Check out this thread for more info...

That's what I am going with. I will be taking the column out on wednesday of this week but I just thought there should be a code. I didn't want to go replacing items that didn't need to be replaced.
