Remove starter, (note wiring location!), place header in car from bottom (do NOT bolt to head yet), reinstall starter with header loose for extra room to work, reattach wiring, attach o2 sensors, THEN bolt the header in place.
I believe Jon (Superman09)has a much more thorough writeup in the XSPower header thread. PM him if you need anything. He is very helpful!

I had all the bolts started holding the header in place when I discovered the starter wan't going back in like that. Only took a few minutes to lower it and the reinstall the starter but at that time it wan't mentioned in the instructions.
Be careful when you tighten the wires back on the starter. They need to be tight so they don't come loose but don't break the stud off or twist the stud inside the solenoid. Just good and firm. (Acutally I bet someone has the torque value for these, they've got them for everything else here.)
Don't waste time with the gaskets that came with it. I had mine tight, retightened them and still burned through on the drivers side. The factory ones worked fine.
Good luck. I love mine but did have one tube close to the steering shaft which I somewhat corrected. I have aboujt 3/16 clearance now.l

Did you know that some of the 2000 models had a different motor mount than the other years. It lowers the engine about an inch. I found this out when I installed a vararam powerduct and it would not fit over the radiator shroud. Wonder how the headers will fit...
So you installed the starter after the header was in place but not bolted in?

Hmmm.....I think you are confusing two dimensions. Based on my understanding, the disparity was in the engines position about the cars length i.e. firewall to radiator.......NOT the position of the engine....between the hood and ground.
