Default steering pos sensor

i have the "service selective ride" code,, i think its due to bad steering pos sensor,,
given that i have C6Z shocks and bypassed those shocks sensors,, is that sensor supposed to feed any other system? should i replace it or just read the whole thing out with a tech2?

The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) receives a direct signal from the steering position sensor. The EBCM then sends a Pulse Width Modulated steering position signal to the Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) module. There is a code that would be show up if the steering sensor input to the ESC module was bad. That code would be C0710. Use the DIC to display the codes on the car and see if you have that code. If you don't see that code it is highly likely the steering sensor IS NOT the reason you are receiving the Service Ride Control message. Since you changed shocks the ESC isn't receiving any signals from your C6 shocks and that is probably why you have the message. When you display the codes you should see at least one of these codes and most likely all of them: C0577, C0578, C0579, C0582, C0583, C0584, C0588, C0589, C0592, C0593 and C0594. These codes represent the faults that can exist in the shock solenoids which are inside the stock ride control shocks. You will have to have a shop with a Tech 2 change the car's settings so the BCM doesn't expect to see an ESC module.
