First time poster here. I have a 2001 Corvette Convertible (Torch Red) in mint condition which I just bought. Car runs great.
I've got what I've found to be a somewhat standard problem on '01 C5's:
driver side A/C blows warmer than passenger A/C
I went through your posts (exceptionally informative, and have been a great help) and did the following:
pulled diagnostic codes;
reset the HVAC and heard the actuator doors reset themselves;
However, driver side A/C is still warmer than passenger A/C. For those of you with far more experience than me, can you give me some advice as to how to proceed next?
Thanks in advance for your help and replies - great to be in the forums with some fellow Corvette drivers.
from what I've learned here, if your drivers side is warmer then the passenger side, you might need a re-charge. I unfortunately have the opposite problem and will probably need to change the actuator....
Trust me it's more than likely low on refrigerant. I went through the same problem. Tried all the quick fixes like pulling fuses, resetting codes, disconnecting battery and none of them worked.
I next pulled the dash and replaced the drivers side actuator. Still had the problem.
Finally brought it to the dealer and the system was low on refrigerant. Dealer told me my compressor was leaking and needed to be changed to the tune of $1200. Told him to hold off and just charge the system. That was in May of this year and still blowing ice cold today. Dealer said the compressors in the C5'S are know for leaking.

Isn't it illegal to charge a system that has known leak?
sounds like you're low on freon. If you're low on freon you have a leak somewhere... Find it, fix/replace the component that's leaking, then recharge and you'll be good to go.

Yes. Under the "Homeland Security Act", you will be identified as an "enemy combatant" , stripped of your constitutional rights, and incarcerated at Guantanamo Bay indefinitely.

ALSO its illegal to remove the label from pillows and some bed spreads.

Technically speaking....
Without a license, you shouldn't even be able to purchase refrigerant.
And yes, leaking refrigerant into the atmosphere is illegal...or so the EPA says....
Take it to a shop and have the proper amount of charge added...and check for leaks...most qualified shops have leak detection equipment.
I am not a mechanic but, I am refrigerant certified....had to get it years ago when I was working for a mechanical contractor.
