Default installing viton valve seals ?

hey i bought a set of patriot valve spring set dual spring 8401,
how did you guys install your seals , i used a 10mm and a extension ,but not sure if it seated right , the seal went down to the part on the valve stem were it looks like a step , did not go to the bottom of the head not sure about the seal , cause the old one has retainer built in
,and should i use silcone on the bolt holes for the rocker arm bolts.

The LS OEM seal design is better than what you are using, if you need to replace them I suggest you buy new OEM ones.
Based on your questions, you should probably obtain a service manual to guide you through this work.

Do you ever offer any advice other then "Buy a service manual?"

It only matters that you get the seal down so it's solid against the guide. If your rocker bolt threads break thru the intake runner, you can use blue loctite to seal the threads.

I agree service manual ain't gonna show how to install aftermarket valve seals , the oem is a totally different design they have a retainer built in to the seal so that seal will have to reach the head in order to get the spring on.
The people on here like to comment but they don't even no the answer

Thanks to all the guys With at least trying to help

The service manual does not cover the installation of aftermarket parts, however it would tell you whether or not you should be using silicon on the rocker arm bolts (part of your original question), the correct torque value for those bolts and the sequence for tightening them to the correct torque value. Good luck with your project.

That's what I did. Lightly tap them down until they won't travel further.

They will not reach to the base of the head like the open seat/seal. I just oiled them first.

GM previously used 2-piece seal/seat on earlier LS1 engines, and later switched to the 1-piece design. They're not hard to install but you really need a proper seal driver to get them on correctly.

Using a socket doesn't distribute force evenly across the seal body, and it also puts force on the outer radius...the seal gets deformed and the engine becomes an oil drinker.

Summit, JEGs, etc. sell an aluminum seal driver that makes the job easy and gets good results.
