I would not go 3.73. I would go 3.45 or in that range. And as stated above, a good dyno tune, air intake, and headers and exhaust is the best way to go. I am getting my stock 2000 6 speed dyno tuned later today. I will post the results for you! Look up the zip tie mod for the air intake. It is a free 5-8 horsepower.
What kind of gears do you recomend? It is an auto and can I just get headrs or do I need a whole new exhaust?
3.42's will really wake up the car and is probably the first thing I would do with an auto. You will not see much gain from a catback but LT's with hi-flow cats you will. Gears-CAI-LT's in that order...IMHO.

All depends what you want to do with the car, drag race, auto cross, just cruise. Now find out what gear you have in the car. If its the optional 3.15 gear, I wouldn't waste my time on a 3.42 as its not enough differance. If its the stock 2.73 gear than it would be a nice upgrade. Get a vararam cold air intake for the best results. On the 1/4 mile most people see about 3 tenths quicker and 2-3 MPH faster.
This is just a pre-canned tune in a chip; and it is pure
They are advertising a 60HP gain from this thing. You won't even get that from a full dyno-tune on a stock car. I agree with the advice above; gears, intake, LTs and then get a tune. Mail order from ECS will work for those mods and you'll love it.
