Default Security

My security feature in my C-5 2002 Convertible has gone on the fritz. This function locks out the ignition as well. I can start the car normally about half the time the other half it just dosnt excite the solenoid. How do I disable this system I have tried unhooking the battery..sometimes if I wait 5 or more minutes the system resets and starts normally ...I do have the security lite on steady when driving and flashing when I get into car...please if anyone know advise....thanx

Locks out the ignition? ....as in, you cannot turn the key?

No I can turn the Key the corvette shop in Tampa told me it could be the key reader and there is no way of telling without the problem happening in front of them ...and this is so intermittent...Maybe getting new Keys?

If you are going to ask for help, then at least provide the info requested. I provided a link to read the codes. We can't help if don't know what they are.

I can only get the codes if I am at the shop when this lock out occurs It is not that simple...I was looking to see if there was anyway we could pull a fuse or bypass this security system

The only "Bypass" is soldering in a resistor the same resistance as the pellet in your key. Chances are your key and/or the contacts in the ignition switch are funky.

Post your codes:

http://www.c5forum.com/ayc/dtcdic.php

Simple request if you cannot read and answer questions posted don't expect to get much help here. Check for codes as described in this link and post what you find, write them down and include any H or C at the end if you find no codes say you did the procedure and found nothing. The quality and quantity of help is dependent on your answers !

If you do a search on "no start" issues you'll find lots of threads relating to your problem, and a possible fix....
