02 Vette w/ leaking butt.......??
Hey guys, this isn't my car but my dad has an 100% stock w/ runflats 02 Vette 6 speed and he was at the dragstrip 1 year ago and it went into wheelhop (I know its the diff killer) but before he could stop doing it he said it made a loud POP!
Anyway no leaks and it drove fine so he ran it a few more times and it worked great, he hardly ever drives this car but the other day he went out and drove it and now it has a puddle under the LF diff cover side.
Yesterday I jacked it up & looked all around for cracks or bad seals etc and didn't find anything but the diff is definently wet w/ diff lube so its leaking somewhere........
What are your thoughts on this??? Think he broke the diff case? How can i be sure without dropping the rear end down?

That doesn't sound good. ("he said he heard a loud pop")
I agrreee, w/the last post.
Clean it up real good.
Take it for a 5 mile spin & see if you can eyeball where the area of the leak is.
Use a very strong light when doing so.
If its not coming from the seal at the axle look real good for a hairline crack some where in the case.
Good luck, & think rear/tranny strut brace, in the near future.
