I'm sure the forum members will reply with the exact procedure. But from what I remember when I performed it on my car you need to hold the lock and unlock button simultaneously on the key fob, near the car, for a couple of seconds.
I believe the procedure is outlined in the owners manual.

You need to hold lock and unlock down, on the fob, for about 10 seconds. If you hear the horn honk you are back. If not there is a more extensive procedure in your owners manual which you do through your DIC (digital information center) and is a complete reprogram that will work for any fob including a new one.
After I changed the battery, I cannot get the fob to work consistently. Basically, the vette fails to recognize the fob after 12 hrs or so of no use. I have done both the quick relearn (holding the lock and unlock buttons for a few seconds) and doing a fob relearn thru the DIC. Does anybody have a solution?
