Default ac belt and evap question

I have a rather dumb question. My compressor bit the dust and I will be replacing that and the accumulator but need to get the 134a evacuated first. driving it with the the belt on makes the compressor heat up and start smoking so I was thinking of removing the belt so I can drive it to the shop to have the 134a removed. The question is can it be driven without the belt on the ac pulley and for how long? Also in reading some of the other threads I am getting a picture of the evaporater location is behind the dash board on the passenger side. Is this correct location? Lastly, where exactly is the orifice tube located? I have the write up from Roco but I am just not seeing where that orifice tube is located? Oh yeah promise last question. Using the flush product to clean the lines, condensor and evaporater is there a specific direction to pump this stuff? Through the condensor first or if the evap is located behind the dash do I flush it that direction?

You can run without the a/c belt with no issues. I would unplug the compressor too while the belt is off.

I agree...remove that belt and disconnect the compressor right away.

you will be able to see the lines to the evaporator coming off the accumulator. the accumulator is to the far right passenger side, and the evap is more towards the middle of the car on the passenger side. you shouldnt need to remove it to flush it.

the orifice tube is located on the ac line with the connectors that runs by the coolant tank. cant remember if it is forward of the tube or behind. regardless, you have to remove it, so it will show up.

it is recommended to remove all of the lines except for the evaporator(because it is a b!tch to remove) to flush the system. the direction does not matter. just make sure to blow out all the ac flush from the lines, condenser, and evaporator with the air gun with rubber tip so they are completely dry before reassembling the system.

Thank you very much. I now have the belt off but struggling to get the compressor unplugged. Dry brittle plastic and trying not to break it.

Yeah I just went through that the other night. There are two clips holding it on. I had to push the bottom one down and slide it back so it wouldn't re-clip, and then do the top one.
