Although I don't own a corvette I do have one of their finely made differentials. Specifically I got one that has the following numbers on it from top to bottom
12554837

It looks to work great but doesn't quite fit my application yet. The spline on the pinion is 25 but what I want to connect it to has a spline of 31. I have heard that there are some gears that have a 31 spline but I can't seem to find anything. The application I am doing is connecting the C5 diff to a ford top loader. This came about from having both available at the same time while my current trans axle is on the way out. I'm not crazy its been done before but they don't list much info on the diff. So in short is there a ring and pinion set that either comes in the 28 or 31 spline variety? And is there any that are particularly cheap? I'm not going for performance but rather mileage with the opportunity for hard starts now and then.
are u sure its 31 and not 30? I believe that u can have your pinion machined to accept a 30 spline main output shaft. RPM trans can probably help you out, give them a call. good luck with your project
Thanks for your help. I'll contact them later. But its a 31 external spline because they don't make a 30 plus I counted twice. What I am looking for in simple terms is the turning part that fits into the differential to make that move. Maybe a pic would help. I am talking about the female socket in the middle where the drive shaft or main shaft goes. I hid the pic because it is rather large. Sorry if this is confusing but I am not familiar with the nomenclature yet.
