Fuel pump problems?
morning...it takes a few cranks to start and then starts a little roughly
on initial start. Restarts later in the day are fine and it starts instantly.
Yesterday I drove a lot about 150 miles of mostly highway and late in the day I heard a whining sound coming from behind...thought it was some radio interference, but it was still there when I turned the radio
off. This morning...hesitating start again...but no whine at all. I am wondering if there is a problem with the pump when it gets hot...causing whining...also seems to be a loss of fuel pressure when
sitting over night...hence the delayed starting.
Mine seems to be one of the 03's with the new fuel system...so I imagine its a nightmare to change out the pump. BTW the car has
28000 miles.
Any input or experience would be appreciated.

drive a lot..then it gets noisier. It definitely does not start instantly
like it used to. There is no way to change the fuel filter in this new
fuel system...it is in the tank.
