I recently had to get a front hood bumper bolt for my 02' Z06 (bought the car and one was missing), but was curious how "tight" to the hood the bumper should be. Right now I have the front pretty much flush with the hood. When closed, if I push down on the front there is no give, it will push against that bumper immediately, but not too high, just perfectly against it.
Is this correct for height or is there supposed to be a slight amount of give? My theory is that if it is tight the way I have it there will be no vibration as the bumper will absorb it. I need to adjust my rears (toward windshield) to match the fronts, but want to make sure what the correct height should be.
There is no specific height. The bolt is there to allow the hood to be even with the fenders of the car. An adjustment in leveling.
Ahh, well that explain "Hood Adjustment" huh? Ha ha, would also explain why the hood was slightly sagging below the fender/fascia lines and is now perfectly flush. I have a tendency to over-think instead of just taking it at straight face value.
