Winter Mods and Suggestions Wanted
I am currently repairing the vacuum lines under the battery tray. While repairing those the headlight started grinding so that is on the list. I also need to change out my sunvisors.
I will have a budget of around $6000.00 in March
My plans so far are this year I will finish the rest of the drivetrain and suspension. I am planning on using the invaluable information in this forum to do the work myself. I want to drop the rear carriage, differential, tansmission, torque tube and clutch. The differential is leaking on the sides so I will replace the seals for sure. What do you recommend for additional differential upgrades in relation to my hp and usage? I never had the time to replace the flywheel when I did the clutch so that will get swapped-flywheel suggestions? I will also install the remoter slave bleeder at that time. I am planning on upgrading the torque tube bushings while I am in there too.As for suspension, I would love suggestions. I have been looking at the Pfadt stuff. I really like the PFADT Inverted Adjustable Shock Absorber Set and Pfadt Adjustable Sway Bar Package. Anything else I should do while I am working on suspension?
As far as brakes go I would like to have the factory ones powdercoated and then replace rotors, pads and the rubber brake lines. I am open to suggestion on this one too. I was thinking of ACDelco Dura Stop High Performance rotors and Hawk brake pads.
I am going to install a double DIN and some speakers as well to round out the loot.
Any info, links to write-up and all of your suggestions would be great.

Thanks,
If you're going to be doing some autocrossing you'll probably want to stay away from FI. Boost can make coming out of hard corners pretty exciting. Do you intend to increase your power level?

More "general maintenance" suggestions: New Oil Filter, CAI recharge and oil, new fuel filter, Sea Foam decarb treatment...

What do you recommend for additional differential upgrades in relation to my hp and usage? At your current power levels and if you're never planning on strapping slicks to your car I'm thinking your current diff is probably up to the task. If you want to upgrade you could go with hardened shafts, kevlar clutch packs etc. May as well have taller gears (3.90s or 4.10s) put in while you're at it if you're going to do this. True power gain = 0 but it will feel like you added 100 hp on the low end. Just bear in mind that you probably can't do this part yourself. It takes a special set of tools and skills to set up these diffs. Contact RKT56 or RPM Transmissions for great service, quality work and reasonable prices

Make sure you balance the clutch and the flywheel or it will drive like $hit
I will also install the remoter slave bleeder at that time. I am planning on upgrading the torque tube bushings while I am in there too.
By "upgrade" do you mean solid bushings? If so, just on one end or both? If it's both I'd strongly urge you to reconsider as I've read a couple of horror stories on here about that. You might want to read this if you're considering doing one solid bushing: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...couplings.html Eric is a GM engineer... I'll be sticking with the factory compounds on my car.
As for suspension, I would love suggestions. I have been looking at the Pfadt stuff. I really like the PFADT Inverted Adjustable Shock Absorber Set and Pfadt Adjustable Sway Bar Package. Anything else I should do while I am working on suspension?
How serious are you about the autocrossing? If you really think you're going to get into it then you should strongly consider coilovers... The LG pro ones are pretty popular on here.

Again, if you're serious about getting into autocrossing you might consider getting away from stock brakes and into a big brake kit. A good compromise between the stock brakes which get so hot at the track it's insane and a high dollar stop-tech or brembo kit would be the C6Z06 brake system. It will bolt to the C5 but you'll need an 18 19 wheel combo to clear it. Here's a thread on this (many more if you search: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...ers-on-c5.html Also, DO NOT RUN DRILLED ROTORS at the track. They WILL crack. You can run drilled rotors for street driving but stick with the solid ones when you autocross.
I am going to install a double DIN and some speakers as well to round out the loot.
Make sure you talk to Dennis (forum sn is C5 Bearsfan) about this. He's the owner of DoubleD Mods and his work in this department is second to none. His prices are great as well.
Any info, links to write-up and all of your suggestions would be great.
