This is a very common issue. Search for it. Long story short, the plastic gears are stripping out. You can order brass gears that will last pretty much forever. You may be able to rotate the large gear 180 degs and use the teeth on the other side for a while. I got abt 6 more months out of mine before switching to brass gears.

Most likely the motor gears.. Do you hear a grinding sound?? That would indicate gears.. Or it could be the motor controller but gears give more problems.

I have an other Question for you, I take three bolts out the forth is a nut the arm is with but arm is still stuck on the motor shaft. Is there somthing els I need to do to get it off the arm it is hard to see what I am dealing with, as well as not easy to get aroud in there anyway thanks Randy

Default Headlight motor gear replacement

I just finished doing this to both of my headlights last week. The control arm was only held on by the nut.

Yep, just the nut holding the arm on.

I was able to remove the arm, spin the manual **** so the shaft (where the arm attaches) rotates 180 degs, then re-install the arm (without removing the 3 bolts). This uses the other side of the plastic gear. You will still be using some of the same teeth since the arm rotates a little more than 180 degs during raise/lower operations, but with a little luck, the headlight will work until you can get replacement brass gears.

Also, there's some instructions on this site on how to better access the area by removing the plastic headlight shroud.
