Oil pressure gauge "pegged": I have not worked on cars since the 80's and bought my first vette, a 2001 convert fairly recently. Would like to get the beginners tutorial for repairing what I can myself. My first challenge is: My oil gauge is pegged, and dash indicator says 109 psi. Oil pressure and level are fine. Is this something I need a code read for, a sensor replacement, or soemthing else. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If you use search or search this forum (in the red banner) and keywords "oil pressure pegged" or similar in C5 Tech, you'll find literally hundreds of past threads. There are a couple of ways to access the sensor so you can change it out. That depends on your abilities and confidence. And a remote sensor mounting kit will make future R&R much easier.
FYI, if you title your thread so it has to do with the technical question you're asking (rather than your user name), it will draw more response. You can change the title by clicking on the Edit button (and use "Advanced") and/or the red triangle beneath your user name to ask a moderator to change the title if "Advanced" won't work for you.
