Removed stereo and getting theft deterrent fuel code
I removed stereo to reduce weight in my track car and am now getting a code P1626. This code is theft deterrent fuel enable circuit. What do I need to do to eliminate this code? Thanks

I don't believe the radio would have anything to do with anti-theft system. Did you mess with the ignition switch? Is that the only code? Down next to the BCM is a serial data buss "star" connector...did you touch it?

P1626 is a theft code--However it will NOT trigger a "check engine light"
but can keep the car from running---A tuner local or mail order should be able to turn this code to read "NOT REPORTED" PERMANENTLY and all should work fine--Don't think there is an other way---just clearing the code with a scanner won't do either
