2005's have 243's - they're the same castings that are on C5Z's....and they'll fit perfectly

well the bore is slightly different, 3.89 to 4.00, won t matter ? and I know they will match up with intake, just the bore I am nervous about.

Thanks

What are you concerned about? It's the same casting, the only difference between the LS6 and LS2 head are the valves(type).

The bore doesn't matter (in this example). The head chambers do not fully cover the cylinder bore, not even on stock LS1 heads.

The only time bore becomes a true factor in fitment compatibility, is when valve diameters are too big and would contact the cylinder wall at peak lift. This is why an LS3/L92 head will not fit a 346 (for example).

The 243/799 are the same head, just cast in different plants. You might find a stock LS2 with 243s, you might find one with 799s. You may even find a car with one of each, bone stock.

And whether that 243 casting came off a 2001 or a 2006 is irrelevant, it's still the same identical part.
