Just trying to see if there is any correlation between peeple who chronically miss 3rd gear and the type of **** they use...
My Hypothesis is that the Pistol grip gets more misses than any other..because of the angle it puts your hand in.
Also, I am asking this because I am confused....I personally have never missed a shift but I hear complaints all the time. Even from peeps who frequent the track.
Re: Missed shifts caused by Shift ****? (66ImpalaLT1)
I VERY rarely miss shifts. I still have the stock ****. I used to hate it but I have gotten used to it. I think the ergonomics are horrible. It had to have been designed of the 90th percentile ape. But, like I said, I have gotten used to it. I must have subconsciously learned how to keep a grip on it but it really does not fit comfortably in my hand.
Re: Missed shifts caused by Shift ****? (chuckster)
I have a Momo **** that's similar to the stock ****. . Last year I missed 3rd on two runs in a row, and about the 9th and 10th runs of the night. It wasn't the ****, I was just getting tired and my hand was sweaty, couldn't get a good grip anymore.
I have on occassion missed third at WOT, but realized it before I let out the clutch..so never any damage. I did however (when I first got the car) attempt a down shift from 5th to 4th hit 2nd instead and blew the synchro. Warranty fixed that though. I alway's had muncie (rock crusher) 4 speeds, 5 speeds, and automatics. But after a week or so I figured the 6 speed almost shifts itself as you are going through the gears.
