Default Z06 exhaust exchange

Who has done this one at home in the garage? And is it just better to employ a mufler shop to perform this? Want to change mine out this weekend.

The problem is getting the vehicle high enough on jack stands to facilitate the removal of the muffler and tailpipe assembly. Much easier on a lift.

Take it to a shop, they shouldn't charge you over $50.00 or so.

If you can get the rear or the car about 3 feet in the air you can do it no problem, if you cant do that safely then you should take it to a shop and have it done.

What did you do with your stock exhaust? Did you list it on the Forum and if so what would it be worth, My vette has just turned 59,000 miles.

Ive got mine sitting in the attic above the garage as there isnt much desire for them. Plus if I sell the car they are going back on it.

I think he was talking about swapping out his stock exhaust with Z06 ti's and asking what to do with the base exhaust.

Clarification:
I currently have stock exhaust, will be installing Z06 Ti's this weekend, my question is is the stock exhaust worth hanging on to, or is there a market for it?

Nope they aren't worth much if anything as others have said.

Nope they aren't worth much if anything but I'm sure you can get something for them since the cats are attached to the hpipe at the scrap yard.
The Ti exhaust is a CATBACK system, only the mufflers and some pipe are part of this adventure.

I gave mine away... If you have room to store it you could keep it until you sell the car. When you sell it put the stock piece back on and sell the Ti's.

Yeah I don't know why I was thinking about getting rid of the hpipe when it's seperate from the "cat-back"

raise the rear end about 3 feet and and swing down the rear sway bar. it will go right on.

it will take you longer to get the car in the air than to swap it.

OR, wait for your next oil change and go to some independent place to have the oil changed, they can probably swap out the exhaust before all the oil drains out.
