Default Which wire is this?

I pulled my console & under dash panel off and found a black wire off the ignition switch that has been cut and just dangling there. I think it might be the ACC, but I don't have a radio or PCM currently installed to check.

Does anyone know off hand? my search engine attempts have been unsucessful. I circled it in red.

I also found a 1ft long 4-pin telephone connector that fell out of underneath my instrument cluster....any clue what this could be for?

The only thing I could find on a search engine was for a Valentine V1 power feed...but isn't that strange to find that underneath the instrument cluster?

I don't think that's a wire.
I had my dash apart a couple of months ago and If my memory serves me correctly that just a plastic tether that's attached to the Ignition Switch Cover.

Unfortunately that wasn't correct. I peeled back some of the rubber sheathing to expose 2 very thin white copper wires.

I never had any radio head unit installed, so I don't know about the ACC, but my ignition has always worked fine. I know for a fact that there was originally a fancy aftermarket HU that was removed by previous owner.

I am really concerned if it is infact the ACC though, because I am trying to re-install a factory head unit and the radio connectors dont seem to be touched.

Ok, so how about more information. You said it's cut, where does each end go? If it goes to the lock cylinder, the VATS may be bypassed.

Sorry, the pic I posted was not actually mine. I stole it from an instruction manual. My wire is actually cut (or disconnected) - unlike the picture mine is just hanging from the ignition.

I will go back to the ignition and try to peel back the little round cover and get an exact view on where it's coming from.

Will add more info soon.

Ok, I'm not sure I'd be feeling to good about the situation. It sounds like there is a problem with the lock cylinder , and someone did a hillbilly bypass with a resistor, instead of fixing it correctly. At the very least, I would find out where the resistor is, and make sure it is secure.......or it will leave you stranded for sure. Considering you have everything apart already, it would be the appropriate time for the correct fix.....JMO.

It wouldn't suprise me one bit...everything the previous owners put their hands on with this corvette was ghetto fabbed. I love this forum though!

I will have to educate myself on VATS....thanks man!
