I posted this up in the sticky post but most people do not look up there for new posts.
I'm getting the "Pull Key and Wait 10 Seconds" message and "Service Steering Column Lock" message I've only had this car (99 FRC) 2 weeks. I do know this is a common problem and I've done the search on the forum for it. I know some the of the history of the car from carfax. The first owner had the "steering column repaired" back in 2000 and the last owner had "some work" done to the steering lock. What was done I'm not sure.
What I've checked so far, battery is at 12.49 volts, I pulled fuse # 23 and checked # 25, I think the lock it self was modified because the wheel will not look at all just like the automatics although it's a M6. It's getting the fuel cut off when I try to drive it. I know I can get some one with HPtuner to change the # to 200 and I should be able to drive it but seeing the message come up all the time will just **** me off. I would rather fix it right, right meaning no more lock no staling and no more service column message. What should I do next what are my options?

I'm hopping 8VETTE7 jumps in here just to make sure I've got this figured out right. Since the cars a 99 manual and has had a recall done back in 2000 I looked for the purple wire splice on the passenger side relay and it did have it done. I also looked for the k harness as well as a CLB on the driver side and found none. So is my best option to install a CLB and do a relay bypass per post 15 from this link http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...installed.html? Another option is to replace the relay and see if that fixes it, although I think that's more of a temporary fix. I'm guessing a small diameter lock ring was installed at some time and that's why even with the key off I can still turn the steering wheel.
