I recently purchased an 02 vert and after having a dead battery a couple of times(which locks up the column) I took it in to GM and was informed that even though MOST of the C5's were in the recall mine wasn't and therefore they wouldn't do the recall-how wrong. The next stop was for a CLB and within 20 min the problem was solved permanently. Too bad that on a 50K vehicle we still have to deal with poorly thought-out safety issues not to mention what would happen if your battery dies at 140mph+. :eek:
