Default C5 Harness Bars

All,

I have received some good insight on teh hardbar harness bar. My buddy referenced me to his Brey-Krause harness bar that has what appears to be a secondary support brace to the primary that connects between the seat belt connectors and has legs to stabilize down the rear side of the seats.

Given the harness bars, which is a simple tubular design that runs straight across from belt mount to belt mount?

I prefer an all black tubular design. No floor mounts. And better if it has some sort of camera mount built in.

Suggestions besides these two mentioned?

Thanks in advance.

Look at the AZ Speed bar. I had one up until very recently and loved it...

Ok, it looks like the Hardbar is a good selection. And, their website has a camera mount to go with it (Sold separately) but the camera mount look slik eit is limited to specifc type "handy-cam" cameras. It does no tlook as if it allows larger cameras or cameras with bigger aftermarket batteries.

Anyone have some good ideas on alternatives?

Try the I/O Port racing one if you want to mount on a harness bar. I haven't used one myself, but they look nice.

Chasecam and Stickypod make some nice suction cup mount ones if you choose to mount the camera outside the car, they are also more interesting that way.

I went with B-K bar. It's stainless with black wrinkle finish. The bar is a truss, so it has lots of fore and aft strength as well as anti-rotation bars. Welding is TIG and looks first class.

I know it's strong. A friend totaled his C5 Z06. Frame on car was bent and engine shoved back into firewall. Harness bar got installed in replacement car. He suffered a cracked collar bone. Stock seats and 6 point harness.

The only other bar that I would consider is the one made by Hardbar.

This clamp. . . . .

and a Bogen Manfrotto head. . . .

Makes a very stable and adjustable platform.
