I was out of town over the weekend and when I got back my batter was dead. WHen I tried to start it, other than the clicking sound you get when you have a dead battery, there was a buzzing coming from the fuse box under the hood. Sounded like it was coming from relay 39. The decal under the fuse box is smudged enough that I can't make out what that one is. I put it on charge for a few hours and cranked it up later. I just went out to get something out of the car and it is dead again and I got the same buzzing when I unlocked and locked the car. It has had a battery charger on it for the last 4-5 hours. Any ideas? I'm a first time Vette owner and have had this car just 3 weeks. Is it just that my battery is toast or what?
Per Owner's Manual, Micro Relay #39 is for the Hatch/Trunk Release.
I'd go get a new battery. A weak battery can cause all kinds of strange behavior on these cars. Could pull the battery out and charge it to see if it holds a charge, and could go get it load tested too if you think it's still OK.
Also, Mini Fuse #26 is for the Hatch/Trunk Release. Remove this fuse to see if the buzzing stops on the Hatch/Trunk relay #39.
