Fellow vette brothers, hoping you can help me out....
I noticed a few weeks ago that when I turn on the head lights, the driver side headlamp either does raise at all or goes to the correct open position. If I keep toggling the switch on and off, it will eventually rise up. Even stranger, when I turn off and the head light and it goes into the down position, there is a loud sound coming from the head lamp area. It sounds like a loud buzzing.
My guess is it could be the headlamp gear. The light itself has no problem going on. I suspect the loud sound is the headlamp motor. Am I on the right track or could it be something else?
Replace the plastic gear in the headlamp motor. Might as well do both, pass and driver. When one goes, the other will too in short order. Do a "Search". You will find many tips on the subject.
Thanks for your help & chiming in fellas. Indeed, after searching, my symptoms are perfectly matching to those reported for this problem. Looks like some DIY work for this weekend (assuming the ordered parts get here before then).
