Default Do these Spark Plugs look normal???????????

Decided to pull the plugs while I was installing the Headers and :confused: these just don't look right. Doesn't this gap seem a little wide??????????? BTW .............what are most of you using on a stock motor.................TR 55's

Looks a little wide. Do you have a feeler guage?

I use NGK TR55's.

Looks like the eletrode is burned down. I bet those are stock plugs or been in there awhile huh?

If so then the electrode wear down and eventually you will increase the gap form the lost material.

I use NGKs also. TR5s and TR6s depending on the vehicle.

Bob yes that's a large gap. (from what I can see) They should be at 57. I just went to Rapid Fires on Thursday and gapped those at 50. Runs like a top. :D

Avctually they were gapped at .060 Sure looked like a 1/4" to me. Now I can't find any in town :cry I've called 6 places and the most I can find is 5 :mad

So replace those 5 that are heard to get to and replace the others when they come in. Won't hurt anything. :)

I switched to TR-55's when I installed my headers as well. My stock plugs looked similar to yours. Certainly won't hurt anything to change them out.

I think TR5's are the same plug gapped at .050 instead of .055 for the TR55's. I'd confirm with NGK.
