Re: Good Gawd I need some header installation help! (wwashing)
Give Nate at XTREME a call in the morning. I bet he'll be glad to tell you how to do it without disassembling the engine.
Yeah I was planning on that but you know how it is when you get a project started................... Nothing is working out today  Oh Well..at least it's sunny and warm out

Re: Good Gawd I need some header installation help! (nevrenuf)
Drivers side... leave all the crap on (alternator, valve covers, etc.. and put the header in from the bottom.. super easy.!
I've put on 6 or so sets this way, works for me. Just my .02
Passenger side in and bolted :D  Hey on the drivers side how the hell high do ya need to get the car in the air? I'm working on jack stands here  I'm hoping Belangers are no different than the others. BTW ......if anyone wants to call and offer some tips.........the installation hot line is 513-703-5383 Bob
Re: Good Gawd I need some header installation help! (Mag Red Monster)
To get the driver's side in from the top, remove the following:
Fuel rail cover
Coil pack
Alternator (2 bolts)
Valve Cover
Air Tube
Steering shaft nut at the base (13mm)
Then, just move the steering shaft out of the way by putting it parallel almost with the windshield washer reservoir. Should drop right in. Worked for me the past 4 times :)
Re: Good Gawd I need some header installation help! (nevrenuf)
Levi -- good catch, I do unbolt the steering shaft coupler..
Tom
:smash: Well I wish I would have seen this first. Actually they slipped right in from the bottom after I got a helping hand. Interesting was the fact that the most forward header bolt on both sides was a little tough to tighten. Felt like I was going to break the darned thing. Even had anti-sieze on them.
Re: Good Gawd I need some header installation help! (Mag Red Monster)
Removeing valve covers is a must...and the trick to the drivers side is use a 4' long 2x2 to pry up the front side of the engine (the motor mounts give a little) and they slip right in!
Re: Good Gawd I need some header installation help! (rschiltz)
Are they on yet?
Yep! :D Just now came in from the garage. Everything is tightened up. Tomorrow I'll install some new plugs then fire it it up. :yesnod: I have a muffler shop right down the street fabricating the connection to the cats. Might have ben easier if I had the small piece that bolts to the headers but I bought these used so I guess begger can't be choosers.
