Been A while since I posted anything. I took my 2000 FRC to the the track in June and I was impressed with the MPH. Car went consistent 12.80's between 113 and 115 mph. Good day air day High was 60. The best sixty was 2.15. I know I need some DR's. The car has a tune, CAI, and catback. I am considering a 2001 or up intake, headers and x-pipe and retune. What are your thoughts. With these upgrades, good driving, a good air day will the car:
1. Bust into the 11's
2. still be reliable and not break...car has 60k on it.
time in 1/4 on 275/17 drag radials: 11.83/117mph - 60ft: 1.67 secs
Definitely replace the intake it is smaller in 2000 year
If I did cam I would do heads -Patriots flow 300 cfm and quite economical-they are the Z06 "243" heads that are cnc'd
1. No, you won't gain .8 seconds in the 1/4 mile with headers and a Z06 intake.
2. Yes you will still be plenty reliable with headers and any Z06 or aftermarket intake. I put headers on my car over 100k miles ago (it has 238k now). You will not have loose header bolt or blown gasket problems with these LS engines.
