Rear Hatch Won't Release
NEVER MIND. Service Rep Misunderstood the Tech. New BCM did fix the problem.
About two years ago the hatch release stopped working (no click or sound). I looked at it briefly myself (fuses, etc.), and couldn't find the problem, so I took it to the dealer.
Dealer said "BCM".
I said "Ouch! Nevermind!". It got very annoying and and a few months ago I found a good deal on a new BCM(from the same dealer), and took it back to the dealer for the install this week. After the install it still still didn't work.
I didn't suspect the initial diagnosis, because it seems that everything but the cigarette lighter runs thru the BCM.
Was I wrong not to suspect that diagnosis in the first place?
And if so what next?
Unfortunately, the dealership has changed hands between the diagnosis and the BCM purchase and install, and I don't know if I still have that paperwork with the diagnosis on it. Or whether the current dealership will will cut me any slack because of it.
Any suggestions fo9r where to look for problems would be helpful.
