I would like either LG's, Melrose, Kooks, or ARH.

I chose lg super pros but if it were me then I would narrow it down to LG and ARH to start off with.

You're looking in the right place with LG, Kooks, and ARH.

I myself have a set of 1 7/8 Kooks Longtubes. They are incredibly good quality. The only downfall is the install is a pain the *** if you are doing it yourself. If a shop is doing the install then it's really up to you. But if you are doing the install I would go with American Racing; their longtubes are top notch, easier to install, and you get more choices for sizes.

The underlying truth is.... you won't see any outstanding differences in performance between any of these three choices. My advice - wittle it down to price, install, and size needed (3/4, 7/8, etc). You can't go wrong with a set from LG, Kooks, or ARH; they are all top of the line. Good luck man

I went with 1 7/8 ARH.. 1 7/8 for room to grow into (Future Mods).. ARH are incredibly easy to install and I hear their customer service is great.

XSPOWER. Great product, great performance, great quality, E-A-S-Y installation, 321 stainless does not need coating. Forum vendor Jon has shown incredible customer service.

What's your budget? No experience with Melrose; the other three on your list are all very nice.

Just put LG streets on my 02Z last month....great quality and sound.I kept the stock Ti Z exhaust.Mild at road speeds....and awesome thru the gears at speed.

While you are doing this,go ahead and put NEW rear 02 Sensors in the front( The LG's have the adaptor in the box) to avoid the pesky PO133 & PO153 warm up codes.

I got mine from JW Motorsports,a trusted CF vendor.

What are your future engine plans/mods?

I would suggest LG headers. For most the street series are enough. We do have a nice bundle with the Super pros and Vararam intake that has been very popular.

At what HP point do you need to go with a 1 7/8 over a 1 3/4?

Whats the difference between LG Streets and Super Pros? Just size?

Thanks

A 2nd plug for XS. Great quality & fantastic sound. Bumped me from 460 to 480 rwhp.

All the brands have good reps. I've got LG streets on mine with a Magnaflow catback. I love the way my exhaust sounds and the quality is top-notch with zero problems. I installed it myself with the car on jackstands.

The Pros have a better collector and merge style x-pipe that is 3" versus 2.5" for the streets. The streets just have a stamped x and a lower quality collector.

LG is good for max power and the system is slip-in style, no flange. AR has a flange but is very popular. Personally I have Melrose and IMO has the best sound than any other header system. You cant go wrong with the ceramic coating and superior clamps of the melrose system.

In almost all cases 1 3/4's will get the job done just fine. BUT there is a minimal price difference and if you have plans in the future of a decent N/A build, or F/I then the 1 7/8's will begin to shine and would be the way to go. I believe the lucky number is anything over 450whp and you start to see the true benefits of 1 7/8's.

At the same time, there is ZERO downfall of a stockish (bolt-on) car having 1 7/8's; if you have plans in the future then I would recommend picking up that size if you choose to go with Kooks or ARH. You can think of it as pre-planning which is never a bad idea .

I installed kooks 1 7/8 last month, picked up 46 rwhp on my 427 stroker. These were a serious pain to install, but i'm happy with them now.

Way to quantify your recommendation. I suppose you have personal experience with all of the other header brands, but the superior design of the XSP has won you over? How is the finish holding up?

XS Power
- Fit was great!
- Welds looked good, I didn't see any issue
- Price was great
- Finish holding up great after an entire summer beating on it
