FLP Headers Installed>>> First Driving Impressions!!!
Well I finally had the opportunity to do my install of newly arrived FLP headers and all I have is one thing to say.... Sweet :D For those individuals that are interested in this product, I would highly, highly recommend them without hesitation. The fit, quality and finish and overall manufacturing are outstanding along with the straightforward installation. The welds, coatings, looks and component match-ups are right on and that is so very important when doing installs. I will be making some recommendations to FLP on their installation and instruction sheet just to have a bit more clarification on a few points but overall and experienced tool-spinner will not have any problems. I have only driven about 50 miles on them thus far but I can tell you that my ragtop has a much wider power-band and pulls much easier throughout the gears. It will be even better, I am sure, once my computer compensates for the changes. Definitely a much greater improvement and the FLP's are worth it in every way. There is a point that I would like to stress... IMHO, do not install these on your back although it can be done... Get the use of a lift to do the alignment and fit to perfection for you will save yourself a ton of time and frustration. If anyone is considering this upgrade and are on the fence about these headers, you can rest easy for you will not be disappointed with your purchase and performance improvements. I need to add one other thing which I noticed, the sound coming from my Corsa Indy's is even that much better with a deeper tone and much less gurgling or pop as some would say. With the sound on these, people will know that your near...
I would like to thank Rat (Tony) for his opinions and answering a few questions before my purchase and also Mitch from Finish Line Performance for his assistance in answering some questions before my install. If anyone has any questions for me, feel free to post here for I will help in any way I can… This pic below is with the cats out so you can see where the straight pipes would go and you can also see the O2 sensors hanging...

I'm also happy with my headers. One thing we had to do was find some nuts to fit the bolts connecting the cat back to the H-Pipe. Did your kit come with nuts or did you have to do the same thing?

They didn't come with the 4 nuts but I was in a buddy's shop and had what I needed. Also I would also suggest to someone doing this mod that they pick up the 2 gaskets for the air tubes on both sides along with the 2 rear gaskets between the mid pipe and the rear over pipes ... Cheap items but FLP should consider including these items in the kit to prevent having to go out and interrupt the install...
Re: FLP Headers Installed>>> First Driving Impressions!!! (C5Noir)
Where can I find out about FLP headers? I have heard of them before but can't find them in the mall (only B&B's, Belanger, TPIS, TTS). They look great installed! :)

Damn those look good. I may have to take the plunge
You said it sounds better, does that translate to louder and/or deeper?
You did fire it up with the headers open didn’t you????? I think it’s a requirement to disturb the neighbors at least once :D
Do you have a topside picture with everything installed, ie valve covers, coils, etc?
Nathan…..:seeya
Hello Nate:
The sound IMHO is much deeper and louder... There is also much less gurgling or popping when I let off the gas which also make them just friggen sweet. I do have some topside pics for ya and will post them tonight... I didn't want to disturb the neighbors with the open pipes but even with everything bolted on, they know that I am coming and get out of my way!!! :smash: :smash: :smash:

I agree on the air tube gaskets. I had a minor exhaust leak until we replaced the gaskets.
Re: FLP Headers Installed>>> First Driving Impressions!!! (Mean Green 2000)
I love mine! All I can say is that they are too nice looking to be hidden underneath the car. Anything that looks that good, ought to be seen. BTW, the numbers being quoted are valid improvement results....in my case, 18 RWHP (334) and 18-20 RWT (344).
